The power of our partnership with Belgian football is not just restricted to the match day - it also improves the analysis of training sessions.
We visited Club Brugge’s training ground, where Hudl cameras are installed high above their training pitches to allow for live tagging and analysis of training sessions in the same manner that would take place during a live match scenario.
Club Brugge lead performance analyst John Bessell describes the value of what Hudl cameras bring to their training ground workflow.
“We arrive, the coaching team discuss obviously what they want to work on throughout the day and a big part of it for me is to see what drills are on where and what’s important for the session,” said Bessell.
“Then we look to program the cameras and I sometimes manually control with the joystick where we need to film. We also tag live, and the vision is to have live footage on the field as well to give immediate feedback.”
In terms of installation, Bessell and his team were pleased with the ease of the process with which Hudl’s expert consultants executed the install.
“In the initial stages, Hudl were fantastic,” said Bessell. “The calibration of the cameras was fantastic and to go up in the scissor lift and tilt things down and the installation of the servers, things like that, the specialists did a perfect job. I’ve always had a Hudl consultant easily available by phone.”
