Hudl’s first-ever online summit for football coaches is coming in March. Here’s what you need to know.
Hudl’s free virtual summit for football coaches, Blitz ‘21, is just a month away. Every night over the first week of March, you can tune in from the comfort of your own home and watch dynamic speaking sessions, see product unveilings, and chat with thousands of other coaches in attendance.
Why should you be excited about this event? Here’s all of the biggest reasons:
By attending an event virtually, you’re already saving hundreds on travel and hotel accommodations. And with no registration fees, the only investment you’re making is the one in yourself, and your coaching growth.
You have, quite literally, nothing to lose by registering for this event. No money, and no extra time spent driving or flying out to an in-person clinic. This also means you’ll be able to budget better for other conferences or networking events going on in 2021.
Instead of adding extra weight to your daytime commitments, we’re easing the burden by spreading things out across five evenings (and late afternoons for some) — making attending more doable than ever.
At Blitz '21, we’ve lined up speakers with something to say, not just something to show. They’re going to challenge your conventions about how you run your program, and give you real actionable takeaways you can apply next season.
We’ll have some of the most sought-after speakers from every level of the game. Jamey Chadwell, the reigning National College Coach of the Year after leading Coastal Carolina to a No. 9 finish in just its fourth year of Division 1 FBS membership is speaking. Hall of Fame former NFL GM Bill Polian will also be in the house, not to mention Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and members of the Cleveland Browns.
You’ll hear from top names in high school football, such as Jenks (OK)’s Keith Riggs, Emmett (ID)’s Rich Hargitt, and Saguaro (AZ)’s Jason Mohns. But you’ll also hear about some lesser-known, however unique, stories, such as that of Brad Dal Bon, who helped an Alaska high school win a conference title by coaching via FaceTime on game days from his home in Northern California.
Want to learn more about leadership? We’re bringing in Echelon Front’s Dave Berke, who’ll show you how his lessons from the Navy SEALS can apply to your program.
Get excited about culture? We’ve got a few sessions lined up. Hate the culture talk? No problem. We’ve got plenty of other stuff to keep you busy—from offense, defense, special teams, data analysis and technology, there’s something for everyone.
A decade ago, we changed the way coaches exchanged, watched and shared film. Now, we’re changing the way you capture and record it, too. Be sure to tune in Monday night to hear more about the device that’s going to revolutionize your Friday nights (again).
We’ve also been hard at work on a new video experience, We’ve also been working on the next iteration of our core product. The new Hudl Beta combines video and data side-by-side and lets you explore your opponents — and your own team — faster than ever. At Blitz '21, you’ll see Hudl Beta with bigger video, tendencies at your fingertips, faster performance, a customizable layout, and more.
These two products are the future of Hudl. As always, we want all of your feedback as we continue building new features and products that keep you ahead of your opponents.
Let’s face it. Clinic season is now year-round. Whether it’s shared stories from coaching influencers like Coach Vass or Dan Casey, or marathon Zoom hangouts like the ones Jack Britt High School (NC) assistant, Justin Grandenetti runs, every day there’s an opportunity to get a crash course without leaving your home.
So many coaches tell us constantly they’ve learned so much during the pandemic. Suffice to say we’ve seen enough net positive that the bones of these workflows will be here to stay in some form.
Between the ease of using digital conferencing tools like Zoom, and the lack of heavy time commitment, virtual summits like Blitz '21 offer a path of least resistance. Sometimes in a room with dozens of other attendees, it can be difficult to concentrate on the speaker at hand. In an online setting, it’s just you and the screen. Just log in, and start leveling up.
We’re also going to make special sessions around improving your Hudl skills available on-demand for your convenience.
You never know who you’re going to meet, or learn from, at a coaching conference. Case in point: New Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley.
Five years ago, before his meteoric rise through the NFL ranks, he was the defensive coordinator at Division 3 John Carroll University, making the rounds at Glazier Clinics giving presentations on his defensive strategy. And to hear the coaching community tell it, he shared his wisdom liberally with anyone who wanted it.
This speaks to the true power of networking. When you join thousands of others at an event like Blitz '21, you might not meet the next Brandon Staley. But you will meet coaches you’d never connect with otherwise—and they’re sure to blow your mind.
That’s why the final day of this event is dedicated exclusively to connecting coaches registered for this event. We’ll be hosting networking happy hours with your peers so you can keep the exchange of ideas flowing.
Virtual learning has opened limitless avenues for the go-getters to go get. We’ve made it intuitive to start conversations during the week. Message anyone registered for this event and start a chat, and be sure to exchange information, so you can both keep the conversation going after this is over.
